Right Mother, Right Time

On Mother’s Day, we celebrate not just the women in our lives but the divine timing and purpose behind their calling. This message highlights how God intentionally places the right mothers in the right moments in history—each chosen to carry out His plan with faith, perseverance, and strength.

Lessons from the Mothers of Scripture:

  • Sarah taught us that faith sometimes means waiting. Though she and Abraham were promised children, they waited decades—long past what seemed reasonable. Even when they faltered, God was faithful to His promise. Sarah reminds us that God's timing is never off.

  • Hannah showed us the power of heartfelt prayer. In a difficult situation marked by rivalry and sorrow, she turned to God, poured out her soul, and waited. Her son, Samuel, became a prophet who helped lead Israel. Hannah’s story reminds us that honest prayer and deep faith move the heart of God.

  • Elizabeth demonstrated patient endurance. Despite years of barrenness, she and her husband Zachariah remained faithful. When they least expected it, God gave them John the Baptist—a forerunner to Christ. Elizabeth’s life reveals that obedience and belief are often tested before miracles come.

  • Mary, the mother of Jesus, was perhaps the most unlikely of all—a young, unmarried virgin. Yet she was chosen not for status or strength, but for her character and faith. She embraced her role with humility and courage, even when it meant heartbreak. Mary reminds us that God's plan doesn’t always make sense in the moment, but it’s always perfect.

The Thread Through It All: Faith + Timing

Each of these women shared two things: unwavering (though imperfect) faith and a willingness to wait on God's timing. None of their circumstances were ideal. None of their journeys were smooth. Yet God used each of them to shape the course of history.
